Mat Pilates class focuses on a series of exercises integrating control, flexibility, strength, precision, breath, flow of movement and body awareness. You'll work from the deepest layers of muscles, which stabilize and support your spine and pelvis, resulting in a strong, flexible spine with ideal posture and alignment. Classes emphasize the foundational principals of Pilates while offering modifications and variations to suit each students individual needs.  Expect plenty of personal attention and guidance on your form to ensure safe movement.  Socks are required and are available for purchase at the studio. 

Private and Semi-Private Pilates Equipment classes offer pilates students a customized workout based on their individual needs.  The pilates reformer, tower, chair, springboard and other pilates props can be used to create a personalized experience for every lesson.  

Getting Started with Pilates Equipment Classes.  Before joining a group pilates reformer class, all students must attend introductory lessons.  These introductory lessons are designed to introduce you to the pilates equipment and the fundamentals of the pilates method.  You will get to know your teacher and she will get to know you.  Together you will develop a plan for your progress and how to approach your small group training.  Upon completion of your introductory lessons you and your teacher will discuss how you want to proceed with your pilates training.  Some students choose to take the lessons they learned in their introductory lessons into their mat practice and even into the yoga studio.  Others choose to stay with private lessons.  Most students join a group class.
