Lesley first discovered pilates as cross-training to her rigorous distance running program. She enjoyed the challenge of the group pilates reformer classes and immediately noticed improved strength and balance. What made her truly fall in love with pilates was how great she felt after her lessons. When her teacher suggested she enroll in a teacher training program, Lesley welcomed the opportunity. Though she loved working as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor, Lesley was excited to learn more about the pilates method and share her love of pilates with others.
Lesley has been so fortunate to learn pilates from her teacher and mentor Kris Shellum of The Pilates Studio of Gainesville. She completed her 500 hour comprehensive teacher training at The Harmony Pilates Studio in Pittsburgh, PA with Dilla Mastrangelo and Sueann Fenchel. She is a Pilates Method Alliance ® Certified Pilates Teacher. Always a student, Lesley maintains a personal practice and enjoys taking weekly pilates classes. She loves to study the pilates method and regularly attends workshops and trainings.

Linda is a breast cancer exercise specialist, certified through The Pink Ribbon Program, inc. and a comprehensively trained Pilates teacher. She completed her training at The Harmony Pilates Studio in Pittsburgh, PA. A breast cancer survivor herself, Linda chose Pilates for her personal rehabilitation to regain strength and mobility. Now a devoted student and teacher of pilates, she hopes to encourage other survivors.
Ashleigh is an apprentice pilates teacher. After practicing the Pilates method for several years and experiencing it's transformative power firsthand, she is honored and excited to share her love of Pilates with others. Ashleigh has completed her training at Harmony Pilates Studio in Pittsburgh, PA and is in the final stages of obtaining her certification. She is grateful for the opportunity to be mentored by Lesley at Center Street Studios. In her other life, Ashleigh works as a writer and editor. She lives in Fairfax with her Pilates-loving husband and yoga-loving cat.
Pilates at the Barre teacher, Pilates Apprentice
Christina's life-long passion for ballet has led her to appreciate the value of overall wellness and a healthy lifestyle. After years of ballet training, Christina joined the Joffrey Ballet School in New York City as a trainee. She continued dancing at The Richmond Ballet. She is currently in her fourth season as a company dancer with The Manassas Ballet. Christina teaches ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical and creative movement to dancers of all ages. Christina came to the practice of Pilates in the hopes of finding better core strength. She soon realized the far-reaching benefits of the Pilates method. With a better understanding of her body, Christina applies her pilates training her own dancing and her teaching. Pilates has created changes in her ability to recover from injury, improved posture and overall strength. Christina is thrilled to be an apprentice teacher at Center Street Studios as she works toward her comprehensive certification with Harmony Pilates Studio in Pittsburgh, PA.
Integrative Health Coach, Pilates Apprentice
Jennifer is an integrative health coach, mother and Pilates enthusiast. As an integrative health coach, Jennifer helps people identify and reach their health goals. She received her training at Duke Integrative Medicine where she studied a holistic approach to wellness. This approach embraces the idea that any aspect of your life can impact your health. Jennifer is passionate about helping people connect their health and wellness to their life's purpose and passion in order to achieve lasting results. In her quest to ease her own aches and pains and find balance between family and self, Jennifer began practicing the Pilates method with Lesley at Center Street Studios. She immediately connected with this safe and effective way to increase strength, flexibility and mindful movement. Jennifer has enrolled in the comprehensive training program at Harmony Pilates Studio in Pittsburgh, PA and will be an apprentice teacher at Center Street Studios. She hopes to provide her students the opportunity to meet their goals through the Pilates method.

Leija Koff, born and raised in Northern VA, has always lived an active lifestyle. She is a strong believer that fitness brings sanity and a stronger body makes for a stronger mind. Leija, is the proud mom of a little girl and works for the family business. Leija is following her dream of empowering others and she is excited to help people gain strength and confidence through exercise and group fitness. She has a passion for teaching and coaching fitness and is driven to help others achieve goals they never thought possible.
Bill teaches Hatha yoga with an emphasis on breathing, flexibility, endurance and patience. He has been practicing since mid 2010 after a knee injury from running and significant weight loss. Despite the significant challenges of his first few classes, he continued to be called back to class. Bill practiced yoga in a gym environment and explored yoga of various types in studios all around the country. Every instructor has inspired Bill to explore new experiences and opportunities. Bill received his 200 hour yoga training through Shambhava Yoga in 2013. He is a member of The Yoga Alliance. Yoga calls Bill to his mat every day. There is no yoga perfect, only yoga practice. Matching every movement to the breath allows the practice to bring purpose to everyday life. Flexibility, both mind and body, is a continual journey with no destination making it all the more purposeful. Continue the journey!
Candi is a 200 hour RYT. She completed her yoga training through Soaring Spirit Yoga Studio. She enjoys teaching and practicing Vinyasa Flow Yoga and Yin Yoga. She is passionate about serving special populations on their mats. She is certified to teach kids yoga through YoKids Stretch Your Limits. She has additional training in chair yoga and is certified in Yoga 4 Cancer (Y4C) and Curvy Yoga. Candi believes that yoga is for every BODY.
Jessica started practicing yoga in 2001 while expecting her second child and fell in love with the practice, with her breath, and with the beauty and power inherent in her own body. Once her sixth baby was a toddler she followed the call to become a yoga teacher. She received her 200 hour certification in Shambava Yoga from Shonshoni Yoga Retreat in Nederland, CO and was a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) with Yoga Alliance in 2013. Her classes are a marriage of Vinyasa Flow and traditional Hatha, giving students an intimate connection with their breath as they move, and to intelligent alignment that honors where they are in their bodies in the moment. Pranayama (breath work) and meditation are included for a well-rounded experience. Her greatest hope is that students leave her classes feeling deeply nourished, empowered, inspired and experience greater unity mind, body, and soul. Jessica is blessed to be married to her best friend. Together they home school their 6 children.
Leslie began her yoga journey in 2002 looking for a way to create stability in her loose joints. She practiced off and on for many years before truly finding a love for yoga as she began to use it as a way to find mental and physical health through movement. Yoga gave her peace of mind, mental clarity, and mindful moving meditation. She became certified to teach through Purple Yoga in Long Beach, CA in 2014. Leslie believes that yoga can be fun, engaging, calming, and therapeutic. She enjoys practicing all different types of yoga, and believes that strong muscular engagement and alignment allow the body to work into flexibility.
Lili began her yoga practice 5 years ago and it's helped her grow stronger, more flexible and more fearless. She completed her 200 hr. teacher training through Shambhava Yoga and has been teaching and sharing her love of the practice ever since. She is amazed at how the practice has alleviated the stresses of her corporate life and helped her achieve much needed personal peace. Yoga inspires her to live each moment more mindfully and use each breath to the fullest. Her classes combine creative sequencing, a spirit of playfulness and a dose of inspiration to help you deepen your practice.
Shernita began practicing yoga in 2002 to find relief from pregnancy related back pain. As her practice deepened, she wanted to share her love of yoga with others. In 2008, she received her teacher certification from Health Advantage Yoga Center. As a teacher, Shernita is focused on making yoga accessible for everyone while encouraging students to "find their edge" and open themselves to all the gifts a yoga practice offers.
