Teacher Spotlight : Dani

I used to believe more was always better - more weight, more repetitions, more days in the gym. Pilates has taught me the importance of intentional movement and regularity. Quality over quantity.
— Dani

Dani brings a powerful blend of fun, discipline, and energy to her teaching, shaped by a professional ballet career that began in Mexico City and carried her into a decade-long life in movement. Ballet brought Dani to the area—and then into Center Street Studios for mat pilates classes, where she quickly recognized it as an essential complement to her training and longevity as a performer.

After more than ten years teaching movement across ballet, fitness, and Pilates, Dani’s approach is both dynamic and deeply intentional. She began her Pilates teacher training in 2018, earning her mat and reformer certifications through Harmony Pilates, and completing her apprenticeship at Center Street Studios. Her teaching is strongly influenced by her background as a dancer: she values consistency, discipline, and a strong mind-body connection, and she brings those principles into every class she leads.

Dani is known for delivering a challenging, high-energy workout, especially for athletes, dancers, and anyone who loves to be pushed. But what truly sets her apart is her ability to help students feel what they’ve been missing—guiding them to connect with muscles and movement patterns they may not have been aware of before. She loves teaching the “why” behind the work, helping clients understand not just what they’re doing, but how it supports their bodies long-term. Through her own experience, Dani has learned—and teaches—that more is not always better. Strength comes from awareness, intention, and sustainable practice.

Her own movement practice reflects that balance. Dani maintains both a mat and reformer Pilates practice and incorporates Pilates principles into her weightlifting and other workouts, using it as a foundation for strength and control. Music is a huge part of her energy—whether it’s Bad Bunny or a “Happy Hits” playlist, she brings rhythm and momentum into everything she does.

Outside the studio, Dani is a dog mom, an event planner, and an active leader in the community.  After a long and celebrated ballet career—highlighted by roles like Sugarplum Fairy—she retired from the stage last year and is now excitedly planning her wedding for next year. Dani brings the same passion, joy, and drive from her performing days into her teaching, inspiring her clients to stay connected to movement for life.
